Probabilistic switching and convergence rate in consensus problems

چکیده
We consider the convergence problem of consensus seeking agents and the effect of probabilistic switching on the convergence rate. Using a probabilistic setting, we develop a framework to study the convergence rate for different classes of graph topologies, including Small World networks. We show that by making the effective diameter of the underlying graph small, probabilistic switching can be helpful in the design of fast consensus algorithms.

Switching Between Linear Consensus Protocols: A Variational Approach
We consider a linear consensus system with n agents that can switch between r different connectivity patterns. A natural question is which switching law yields the best (or worst) possible speed of convergence to consensus? We formulate this question in a rigorous manner by relaxing the switched system into a bilinear consensus control system, with the control playing the role of the switching ...

متن کاملConsensus with Constrained Convergence Rate and Time-Delays
In this paper we discuss consensus problems for networks of dynamic agents with fixed and switching topologies in presence of delay in the communication channels. The study provides sufficient agreement conditions in terms of delay and the second largest eigenvalue of the Perron matrices defining the collective dynamics. We found an exact delay bound assuring the initial network topology preser...
متن کاملStrong $I^K$-Convergence in Probabilistic Metric Spaces
In this paper we introduce strong $I^K$-convergence of functions which is common generalization of strong $I^*$-convergence of functions in probabilistic metric spaces. We also define and study strong $I^{K}$-limit points of functions in same space.
متن کاملTime discretization and quantization methods for optimal multiple switching problem
In this paper, we study probabilistic numerical methods based on optimal quantization algorithms for computing the solution to optimal multiple switching problems with regime-dependent state process. We first consider a discrete-time approximation of the optimal switching problem, and analyze its rate of convergence. The error is of order 1 2 − ε, ε > 0, and of order 12 when the switching costs...
